We worked with Pathstone to rehabilitate the West Broadway Villas in Monticello, New York. The community is comprised of 42 units, five designed specifically for accessibility, and two designed for occupants with hearing/vision loss. Each unit was fit with brand new kitchens complete with new wood cabinetry, premium laminate countertops, back and side splashes, energy efficient appliances, and VCT flooring. Senior bathrooms have reinforced walls with diagonal grab bars near toilets, recessed medicine cabinets with unbreakable shelves, bathtubs with vertical and horizontal grab bars, and lever type faucets. Accessible bathrooms feature lowered toilet/sink/cabinetry, tilted mirror, 5’ diameter turning area, out-swinging door, wheel in shower/bath, hand held shower head, shower seat, toilet grab bar, and lever style faucets. All accessible and senior units also have an emergency call station in the bedrooms.
The project also included a brand new community building, renovated laundry facility, and playground.
